“love is now mingled with grief”

IMG_1683[1]

watching the news depresses me. there is such ugliness & hate out out there. when i think about how much people chose not to work together for the goodness of humankind, & how much people do not communicate (oh they talk, loudy, yes they do, but very little communication takes place).

sometimes when it gets too dark, i take a lotr day. i watch hobbits, elves, dwarfs, man, and a great wizard come together. against all odds, working together to save their world. in the darkness of evil, goodness still prevails. & how much more beautiful is this love in the midst of hurt.

thank you J.R.R. Tolkien for providing a little hope in these times. for giving the perfect trilogy to binge watch… & cause reflection on how we, human-kind…though with our differences, can come together in love to help save our world.

Welcome Little One

baby beck truett gozur,

you made your way into this world in a strong manner. you did not want out. who could blame you? this world is scary, but oh so sweet… and much sweeter now that you’re here.

you’re a pretty big baby. over 9 lbs at birth… closer to 10 lbs! but no matter how big you get, and i’m guessing you’re going to be taller than me pretty soon, please know that i will ALWAYS be here/there for you. no matter how far you’re parents take you, and where the Lord leads you… i am supporting you, loving you, praying for you, and will always do so.

being an aunt is my favorite roll yet. you’ve got a pretty amazing cousin who i’ve already corrupted. 😉 i can’t wait for you to meet him, and for him to meet you.

i pray everyday for each of you. that you grow up to know and love the Lord. that you are kind. that you are strong and healthy. that you are motivated to help others and succeed in life. i asked God that you never live a life a part from Him, and that you bravely follow Him and lead others to Christ.

i pray for the world to be a better place. that you grow up in a world that isn’t fighting constantly. that the environment you live in is void of hate. & since i know that isn’t happening until Christ’s return, i pray that you live a life of love, and all around you are as well. i pray that your life is full of laughter (with your parents… this is 100% happening), full of playing outside, and full of adventure. i know it will be a good, sweet, life beck. a good sweet life.

welcome to the world little one.

Do Not Let Me Drive

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Ever. Why do people let me drive? I can’t. Please just give me a horse… and take my car away.

People say bad things comes in 3s…. they don’t. They come in all the numbers.

1. $1,300 worth of car repairs (my fault for not maintaining my car)

2. my key would NOT turn in my ignition. would not turn. Locksmith at 5 pm… check.

3. on my way back, in the rain, from Santa Fe, a bolt on my alternator came off… resulting in having to be towed.

4. locked my keys in my car. Locksmith at 11:30 pm… check.

5. Joined AAA.

6. Not my car, but drove up to camp in the company car…. took a wrong turn (that’s not my fault)… got stuck in the mud. STUCK IN THE MUD WITHOUT CELL PHONE SERVICE. hitchhiked to cell service. Told rangers where I was (but since I took a wrong turn, I wasn’t where I though I was). Nice man drove us back to car. Waited by car for 2 more hours for rangers. No rangers showed up (you know, since I wasn’t where I thought I was). Went back to highway, hitchhiked again, this time to camp. Rangers towed car out. (also thank you Lord for no rain during this time, and for a beautiful view and day!)

7. Ignition stuck again.
